Common questions

Will it look like the handwriting?

Yes — your handwriting is digitized exactly as written, every letter and curve kept (never swapped for a font), then embroidered in real thread. It's the realest version of their handwriting, made to last.

What if the note is old, faded, or on lined paper?

No problem at all — this is a lot of what I do. As long as the writing is visible, lined paper, creases, stains, and fading don't come through; just the words. Old cards, recipe cards, and signed notes are perfect.

Do I get to see it before it's made?

You're giving me the exact handwriting, so what you submit is what gets stitched. I want you to feel 100% sure — so if you'd like a quick mock-up showing size & placement before I start, just ask when I reach out. Happy to send one.

How does the print-at-home Handwriting Kit work?

I email you a one-page PDF with a guide box sized to your design. Write inside it with a dark marker (a Sharpie is perfect), then just snap a photo with your phone — no scanner needed — and upload it. That's the whole thing.

How long does it take?

Most orders are ready in about 2-4 weeks from when you order. Working toward a birthday, holiday, or memorial? Add your date on the order and I'll let you know if we can make it work (and how).

How big will it be? Can you fit a whole recipe?

I size every design to fit its spot beautifully — a short phrase sits proud on a chest or sleeve, and longer pieces like a full recipe card are perfect on a towel, tote, or the back of a sweatshirt. If something's too long to read well at size, I'll tell you and we'll find the best layout together.

What kind of sweatshirt is it? Can I get a heavier or softer one?

You pick the feel and brand: Comfort Colors (vintage garment-dyed — thick, cozy, my most popular), Bella+Canvas (extra-soft & plush), or Gildan (classic and structured). All ordered new for every piece.

How do I wash it?

Turn it inside out, wash cold on gentle, skip the bleach and fabric softener, and tumble low or hang to dry. Treated kindly, embroidery lasts for years. A care card comes with every order.

Can I have you stitch on something I already own?

I'd love to help — let's chat first! Every fabric behaves differently on the machine, so before we lock anything in I like to see what you have. For irreplaceable or sentimental pieces (a loved one's shirt, a vintage item), I don't stitch the original — the embroidery process carries a small but real risk I'd never take with something I couldn't replace. Instead I'll recreate it on a brand-new piece so yours stays safe and untouched. Just message me and we'll find the perfect way.

Can I order more than one / a matching set?

Absolutely — add as many pieces as you'd like on the order (a hat and a sweatshirt, one for each kid, a whole matching set). Each is made individually with the same care. And I keep your design on file, so reordering later is easy — no need to resubmit.

What does it cost?

It depends on the item and the handwriting, with a $30 order minimum. I'll send your exact total with your payment link before anything's charged — no surprises.

Can I return it?

Because every piece is made just for you from your own handwriting, it can't be returned — that's exactly why I confirm everything with you first. If something's ever not right, reach out and we'll make it right.

Shipping or pickup?

I ship anywhere, and local pickup in Sheboygan is welcome too. We'll sort out the best option when I confirm your order.
